Somewhat abstract star nebula/star storm. Whether there's lightning in space, I'm not sure, but it seemed cool. ![]()
Earthrise, somewhat of a misnomer, actually it's sunrise over the curve of an earthlike planet. ![]()
Offworld Isle - moonrise over a snowy island, on a distant world. ![]()
Planescape - Earthlike world amid a deep blue nebula. ![]()
Stellar Nursery - based on HST photos of same. I admit I was looking at an image that the telescope took, when I created this one, but this image was created from scratch by me. I'm rather pleased at how it turned out... looks just like the photos, almost. ![]()
Star Hurricane - A distant galaxy. ![]()
Sky Spirit - a horse-shaped nebula. ![]()
Pyramid - this probably looks familiar... an image inspired by a similar scene in the recent movie "Stargate". While I didn't care for the violence in the movie, the premise - the idea of a gateway between distant worlds - is fascinating, and has endless possibilities. Imagine exploring the galaxy this way... ![]()
Wounded Giant - When the Shoemaker-Levy comet fragments impacted on Jupiter in 1994, the ensuing fireball was larger than Earth itself. We are fortunate the comet was not headed for Earth. We are frighteningly unprepared to defend our fragile world against a cosmic barrage like this.
